Bio
Rodrigo Fernández is a Forward Deployed Engineer at Dualboot Partners with 15+ years of software development experience. Based in Montevideo, Uruguay, he has built software across the full technology stack, from database design and backend services to frontend and mobile applications, while gradually taking on technical leadership and client-facing responsibilities.
Rodrigo began his career as a .NET developer, working with Visual Basic, SQL, and WebForms before moving into technical leadership and projects for the banking industry. He later expanded his experience into mobile development with Angular, Ionic, and .NET. After joining Dualboot Partners as a full-stack developer, he worked across React, Angular, Azure infrastructure, and relational and non-relational databases. Over time, he took on engineering leadership and client management responsibilities, eventually becoming Head of Engineering for the Uruguay office and later coordinating engineering across LATAM. In those roles, he helped define and standardize project execution practices across teams in Argentina, Colombia, Chile, and Uruguay.
Today, Rodrigo combines his technical background with his experience leading teams and working closely with clients. He brings a practical perspective to software development, helping teams navigate technical challenges, improve how they work, and align engineering decisions with business needs.
Outside of work, Rodrigo spends as much time outdoors as he can, enjoying trekking, trail running, cycling, and fishing. Most importantly, he enjoys spending that time with his family.
